Ensuring Safety and Security at Wilmot Union High School
At Wilmot Union High School, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. We are committed to fostering a secure learning environment through proactive measures, community partnerships, and established safety protocols.
Anonymous Tip Line: Speak Up, Speak Out We encourage students, parents, and staff to report any safety concerns through the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s anonymous tip line: Speak Up, Speak Out. This confidential resource allows individuals to share concerns about threats, bullying, or other safety issues without fear of retaliation.
Collaboration with County Resources and Mental Health Support We work closely with local county resources and organizations like Care Solace to provide mental health support for students and staff. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help. We are committed to fostering a community where mental health is prioritized.

Violence Prevention and Threat Assessment
Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) provided by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Office of School Safety: https://speakup.widoj.gov/behavioral-threat-assessment-and-management.
School violence is preventable, and early intervention is key. BTAM is a systematic, fact-based process used by trained school teams to identify, assess, and manage situations where a student may pose a threat to themselves or others. This approach focuses on understanding patterns of behavior, addressing concerns early, and providing supports to help students solve problems before they escalate.
BTAM is not profiling, punishment, or “zero tolerance.” Instead, it is a problem-solving method that uses multiple sources of information to reduce risk, interrupt pathways to violence, and promote both physical and emotional safety for all students.
In the event of an emergency such as a threat to campus, snow, or similar events, Wilmot Union High School may change school start or dismissal times for student safety. We will communicate with parents through the following ways.

Developed through ongoing collaboration with first responders, public safety experts, schools, and communities, the SRP is grounded in research, real-world experience, and today’s best practices.

- Standard Reunification Method (SRM)
In any school emergency—whether it’s severe weather, a fire, power outage, or other threat—our top priority is student safety and ensuring every student is safely reunited with their family. The Standard Reunification Method provides a clear, practiced process to maintain accountability and reduce stress during these situations. By following an organized plan, we can help bring order to a chaotic event, protect the chain of custody for each student, and provide reassurance to parents and our community.
