Courses Taught: Concert Choir, Treble Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Small Pop Ensemble, Theater Tech, Understanding Music, and Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Haas has worked at Wilmot for 38 years. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from UW-Madison. Mr. Haas also directs the Sgt. Peppers program. He has won the 1993 Wisconsin High School Teacher of the Year, the 1992 Kohl Fellowship, the 2002 Tikalski Award, and also has a degree in English. Mr. Haas's favorite part about teaching at Wilmot High School is the students. His favorite sport is scuba diving. |

| Beginning Band or Orchestra, (MUS101) Prerequisite: None Credits: 0.50 Grades: 9-11 |
A class for beginning or those who need additional preparation. Freshman band players will be assigned Red & White Band second semester. Grades 10 and 11 band players will be assigned Panther Band second semester. All string players will be assigned Orchestra second semester. A semester course designed to give the student an understanding of all styles of music, both vocal and instrumental. Periods studied include classical, baroque, romantic, modern and jazz. Other topics studied include musical theater, famous composers, and instruments of the orchestra. | Top | |

All band members who play percussion must take this class first semester. This ensemble is the marching percussion section for the Guardsmen, and will perform with the concert band at the Winter Concert. | Top | |

A full year course that meets every other day, for the highly motivated music student. Instruction in the techniques involved in any small popular group will be covered, with emphasis on improvisation. Instruction in the theories of writing music for the student who wishes to major in music at the college level. This class meets opposite Theater Tech. so both can be taken if desired. | Top | |

Vocal Ensemble is the most advanced performance based choir. This ensemble studies a vast range of music from Renaissance to Contemporary. Along with performing at various locations, the Vocal Ensemble competes at the local, state and national level. | Top | |
